the question we get most -

    Halal.

Yes. Certified at origin by Halal Europe, a member of the World Halal Council. Zabihah method - Muslim slaughterer, tasmiyah over every animal, facing qibla. On stunning we do not hedge: Halal Europe's standard permits controlled, reversible stunning and our facility uses it, as does effectively all halal-certified beef in Europe - the full answer is on our halal page. No pork on any floor our beef touches. No alcohol in any brine. Dedicated halal lines at both the slaughterhouse and the craft workshop.

We'll send you the certificate on request. We frame the paperwork.

Halal Europe, an approved member of the World Halal Council, certifies the facility where our beef is processed. Audits also happen at our craft partner's workshop and on arrival in Uppsala. Details on the Behind the Bag page. Want to see the certificate? Email hello@yallajerky.com and we send it, no questions asked.

Yes. Halal is how it's made - you just get better beef. Welcome.

what you actually bite into -

    The Product.

Five: Original, Spicy, Smokey BBQ, Carolina Reaper and Garlic. Every flavour comes in 40g and 100g. See The Lineup.

Medium. You'll notice, you won't need water. Slow-build heat, not nuclear.

Roasted garlic, cracked black pepper, sea salt. Confident, savory, not a one-note bomb. A small limited side run. Don't open it on a first date.

Carolina Reaper, easily. Real dried Reaper, sprayed on because of the intensity. Spicy is medium-build for everyday eating. Smokey BBQ has no heat.

22g per 40g bag. Full nutrition panel on every bag and every product page.

Beef. Sea salt. Spices per flavor - black pepper, coriander, garlic, mustard seed, herbs. A splash of vinegar in the cure, and one minimal preservative, potassium sorbate, for shelf stability. All declared on the bag. No sugar syrups, no "natural flavors," no MSG, no fillers, no hidden fat. One allergen to know about: mustard seeds.

Because shelf-stable cured beef at this quality tier needs it, and we'd rather tell you than hide it. Potassium sorbate is the minimal, legal-under-EU-food-law option for safe 6-month shelf life on cured meat. We use no more than necessary, and we declare it on the bag. That's Ikhlas. As production evolves, we'll work with our supplier to reduce or replace it. When we can do without, we will. And we'll tell you when.

Yes and yes. Naturally. One allergen to know: mustard seeds, declared on every bag. Check the allergen panel for your specific flavor in case of cross-contact.

Sealed: 6 months from the date on the bag. Once opened: best within 5 days if you can make it last that long.

Two sizes. 40g: pocket-sized, right for a gym bag, a commute, or a long drive. 100g: for when 40g was never going to be enough.

Close cousins, and we're proud of the family resemblance. Biltong is the South African tradition; ours is the same air-dried, vinegar-and-salt-cured craft done halal - certified at origin, made at a specialist European workshop, with our own spice blends. If you like biltong, you'll like us. If you've never tried either, welcome.

Technically it's halal air-dried beef - closer to European cured-meat traditions than to the American gas-station jerky category. We lead with "air-dried beef" because that's the honest description. You'll see "jerky" in some places (it's how people search for us online), but the bag in your hand is an old-world style done halal - not a sweetened snack stick.

the chain, in plain words -

    Where It's From.

From certified European partners. Cattle raised by farmers our halal supplier has worked with for years, with full chain-of-custody documentation on every batch. Halal-slaughtered at origin, to zabihah standard.

At a dedicated European production partner - a specialist workshop that air-dries cured beef for a living. We brought our halal standards, our spice spec, and our QC there. They bring decades of craft we couldn't match from scratch at day one.

We're upfront about this because it's the truth. Halal at origin. Crafted and packed in Europe. Shipped from Uppsala.

The brand, the team, and every order's final leg are all Uppsala, Sweden. The beef, the craft, and the packing are European. We didn't pretend otherwise - because that kind of pretending is exactly what made us want to build YALLA.

Short answer: because doing it right at day one matters more than where it's done. Long answer: the craft takes decades to master, and we'd rather partner with a specialist and keep the standard high than ship a worse bag to keep a "Made in Sweden" sticker. As we grow, more of the chain can move closer to home.

    who, what, why -

    The Brand.

It's the word for let's go. It's what your family says when it's time to leave. It's what you say at the gym between sets. It's the energy we wanted on the bag.

Because that's where the team is. Uppsala is our HQ, our QC, and our shipping hub - a short train ride from Stockholm's airports and in the middle of Sweden's growing halal community. The beef is born further south in Europe; Uppsala is home.

Rafi, Farhan and Karwan - co-founders. Rafi and Farhan met at the masjid in Uppsala in 2019: came for studies, stayed, and raise their families here. Karwan joined as our third co-founder after a conversation at the same masjid, and leads sales. Read Our Story for the full version. Short version: two friends, a gift of Bosnian dried beef, a third founder who walked in with a different idea, and a Muslim community tired of the snack aisle's leftovers.

Because halal is the standard, not the niche. We built for the audience that's been overlooked the longest. Everyone else is welcome too.

Please do. They'll come back for a second bag.

    the holy month, handled -

    Ramadan & Jummah.

Yes - iftar-appropriate content, stories, limited editions. No discount codes stamped on the Prophet ﷺ or prayer times. Follow @yallajerky around the first of Ramadan.
